Abstract

ABSTRACT: With the objective of promoting the consciousness to modify the habits and rescue values through principals and practices of the Environmental Education on the scholar context, this literature research aimed to show to the current and future educators, the importance and necessity of the environmental education insertion in the pedagogical practice through an interdisciplinary proposal, ruled by the thought of globally thinking and locally acting. Due to the human interference in nature cycle, a fact which changes its sustainable patterns causing grave consequences to the human survival and also to other life forms existent on the planet, it has been occurring ecological movements with the purpose to sensitize the humanity about the cause and the effects of the environmental problems in order to rescue the missing link with the nature, understand and modify the relation human-human, and human-nature. The environmental education has as its methodological basis, to permeate through all the scholar curriculum disciplines, providing an holistic view of the environment, being the teacher’s responsibility to offer practical lessons and dynamic activities to force the students to observe and comprehend the human interventions on the social environment and thereby establish possible solutions to the observed environmental problems. This all may be developed through projects that involve a continuous work, which establishes partnership between the school and the community aiming to construct citizenship and consciousness of the necessity of attitudinal changes in people daily lives.
