A esperança da biomedicina em superar a pandemia de COVID-19 não significa que outras epidemias não serão encadeadas no futuro, como mostrou o número de epidemias que surgiram no decorrer deste século. O artigo analisa o mito da neutralidade da tecnologia em relação à tecnologia biomédica, para concluir mostrando a importância dos mecanismos ideológicos e jurídicos, bem como as tendências intrínsecas da própria biomedicina para que o setor biomédico hegemônico e a indústria associada sejam aceitos por a percepção global como solução para um problema que está longe de ser passageiro.
