Abstract

This article presents a systematic review of climate change concerns among adolescents and associated factors. The search included observational and cross-sectional studies selected from PubMed and Scopus databases, resulting in seven articles included in the systematic review. These studies examine how gender, socioeconomic status, and region influence the intensity of climate concerns among adolescents. The findings highlight that young people exposed to extreme weather events and those in contexts of socioeconomic vulnerability face increased risks of eco-anxiety, depression, and a negative outlook on the future. It is concluded that urgent public policies and interventions are needed to promote resilience and support adolescent mental health, as well as further research to explore these effects in different regional and population contexts.
