Abstract

Environmental Education, as a re-signification process of the relationship between humans and the environment, needs to broaden its means of raising awareness beyond orality or writing, exploring new formats and languages that focus, above all, on emotions, which in turn are stimulated by sensory expansion. The anthropocentric concept of sustainability needs to be rethought, respecting the multiple interactions established between humans and non-humans to promote a more harmonious coexistence. This work shows how the appropriation of artistic language, specifically plastic arts, in promoting Environmental Education can have a powerful effect both on the aspiring educator learning and the spectator sensitization, encouraging, through the multisensory stimuli that Art brings together, a deeper reflection on our relationships with the other species that share this planet with us.
