Abstract

The human’s carelessness with nature during the last decades has been brought several bad consequences; the wild use and abuse of natural resources has generated an ecological crisis involving the whole planet, with disequilibrium and reduction of vegetal and animal diversities. The present reflections searches for relations between the illegal commerce of wild animals, an environmental crime, and problems of social, political, economical and cultural characters. From a complex view of reality, this article presents the origins of the so called ecological crisis and its implications to society; it brings the environmental complexity as a possibility to think the crisis and to looking for the “new”.

Mestre em Educação Ambiental (FURG), Pós-graduada em Serviço Social e Políticas Sociais (UnB) e graduada em Serviço Social pela Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (UFES). Atualmente atua como Assistente Social da UFES/CEUNES.
