The English Language in the school curriculum: a paradox among many

The article discusses the subject of foreign language, in this study, English in the school curriculum. Its writing was motivated by two researches advised in the Mastering Program in Education of FURB. Considering the speech of the research individuals. It is avoided any comparison because the conditions of production are different. To search for, in a perspective of curriculum theory and by researches done mainly by authors that base themselves in Applied Linguistics, on the sayings of the students. Thus one recurrent saying in the two researches refers to English as instrumental interest, for tourism, for example, or a took for work, as reading of technical orientation.Downloads
