The ideas presented in this paper emerged from the need experienced in the daily school acting as a teacher of geography in the state public network, in which it was verified in practice the lack of educational actions more effective with the student community on issues related to the environment and quality of life of the region. So, educators offered up rethinking their attitudes in which concerns techniques and methodologies of contextualization still somewhat efficient and promote the construction of more effective actions. We developed several projects and actions related to the environment within the subject Geography, taught by the authors in high school, the prospect of environmental education and the transformation of the local geographical area. We believed that the projects if democratically developed and put into practice, can become important tools for the organization of citizen action on the environment.Downloads
