Abstract

Protected areas are recognized as one of the only suitable locations for biodiversity conservation and climate change mitigation. This study aims to investigate the perceptions of managers of Brazilian National Parks, addressing environmental issues, vulnerabilities resulting from climate change, and identifying the main socio-environmental conflicts faced in the management of these areas. To collect the data, a semistructured questionnaire was sent to managers across Brazil. The responses were evaluated based on content analysis. Data coding was performed using the MAXQDA 2020 qualitative analysis software. The results provided a comprehensive and representative insight into the managers' perceptions and can serve as a basis for the development of critical environmental education and social participation actions.
