Percepção socioambiental e qualidade de vida dos moradores de Pirapora do Bom Jesus-SP

In July 2003, the technical team working at Divisão de Doenças Ocasionadas pelo Meio Ambiente – DOMA, of the Centro de Vigilância Epidemiológica – CVE, of the Secretaria de Estado da Saúde de São Paulo, was warned about the environmental problems of Pirapora do Bom Jesus – SP, derived from the pollution of the Tietê river. This study was based on a qualitative methodology having as its general objectives to know the socioenvironmental conditions of the district and the possible interrelationships among education, health, environment and life quality. A total of 85 persons took part in the focal groups and in the semi structured interviews; 64 women and 21 men, with ages varying from 15 to 77 years old. Thus, it was possible to know, identify, analyze and discuss trough dialogue with and among the residents, the district’s socioenvironmental conditions and the impact on their life quality and health.Downloads
