The objective of this theoretical essay is to characterize the Culture Circle, situating it in the thought of Paulo Freire, while collective experience of dialogue in several educational spaces. The thematic choice is justified by the need to discuss the Culture Circle as methodological proposal and primary source of innumerable experiences in envinronmental education directed to collective spaces of dialogue. Forthis, the article explores some of marxist foundations of Freire's conception of education that determined the general scope of the Culture Circle (praxis, labour, necessity, dialogue, totality and social transformation) and describes minutely how it organizes itself and its purposes, indicating at the end the relevance and topicality of it, in its original conception, to the envinronmental education whether formal or not.Downloads
