Among the various emergent aspects to be studied within the issues involving Rural Extension and Environmental Education, this study analyzes the perceptions of Environmental Education among the rural extensionists of EMATER/RS, as object of study for analysis. For this purpose, the methodological approach is the qualitative research and, for the analysis and interpretation of data the technique of content analysis was employed. It was possible to make some remarks on the perceptions of environmental education of rural extensionists and to verify the need of establishing a program of environmental education for the institution, that is able to promote critical analyses on environmental matters, as well as the disruption of isolated and discontinuous actions, and the accomplishment of an integrated and interdisciplinary work.Downloads
