The competences model is a central aspect in the educational reform of 1996. The main goal consist in to approximate the school, the education and the capitalist accumulation process. This essay is focused in the analysis of the curriculum references for professional education (technical level) in the environmental area, with emphasis on the discussion about the profile of Environmental Technician graduated through those curriculum references. We conclude that is impossible to graduate a critical Environmental Technician, committed with the overcoming of the social and environmental degradation in Brazil.Downloads
