Refletindo sobre a relação entre natureza humana, valores capitalistas e a crise ambiental: contribuições para a promoção da Educação Ambiental crítica

Abstract

The discussion about the relationship among human beings and the environment - the core in environmental issues - must take into account their historical, cultural, biological and social nature. This paper addresses these interconnections based on the perceptions of the environmental crisis exposed by a group of High School students. Data were collected by questionnaires and focal groups. Content analysis was carried out in order to select thematic categories. Among the themes that have emerged in this study, we have pointed out the ones that involve the relationship among human nature, capitalist values and environmental issues. Finally, some issues that can contribute to the promotion of a critical Environmental Education are presented.
