Abstract

Abstract: The environmental crisis and the health emergency that we are experiencing shows us how urgent it is to change our habits. Now, we face a new challenge with new research considering the complexity in the study of the relationships between human beings and the environment This article proposes a critical review and redefinition of the relationship between human beings and nature including sound and sensory value. Sound, subjectiveness, and emotional aspects are fundamental variables in environmental science and the creation of new networks between disciplines.  Three projects develop multidisciplinary methodologies to enhance the value of the sound environment, integrating subjective aspects in the studies of landscape aesthetics, also considering the citizen awareness of the sound environment, by comprehensive environmental education, and promoting participatory actions.
