Environmental Education for adults

Abstract

Environmental Education has become an issue and a practice in current society due to programs and warnings regarding the importance of inserting it as an everyday practice for the world population that has already gotten considerable amount of knowledge on the subject, but has not found the right direction to work actively on it for its own sake and in favor of the environment it belongs to. Therefore, a proposal for the implementation of a program aiming at the adult community of Sindifisco/AM was carried out: it resulted in the “Green Sindifisco Program”, which seeks to spread and advise its collaborators concerning the need to decrease the consumption of natural resources, to select waste, to recycle, and to save water and power as tools to protect the environment and preserve life in the biosphere for future generations. The program in Environmental Education introduced in this institution has become a model that can be followed by other labor unions, associations and other societies which can get inspiration and ideas regarding preservation and start their own work and organized activities aiming at the welfare of Earth and of future generations by using Environmental Education as a tool.
