Responsabilidade e educação ambiental: um estudo de caso na refinaria de petróleo Ipiranga S.A, Rio Grande/RS
Abstract
This paper aims at presenting some results of the research developed during the Master´s program in Environmental Education at Fundação Universidade do Rio Grande and published under the title: Responsability and Environmental Education: the process of training for ISO 14001 – a study case in Refinaria de Petróleo Ipiranga, Rio Grande, RS. This research intended to reflect on the interrelation of the themes Environmental Responsability, Environmental Educaction, and norm ISO 14001 taking the implementation of the company´s Environmental Management System (EMS) into consideration. Therefore, the research aimedat analyzing how the training programs developed during the implementation of ISO 14001 contributed ti the Environmental Responsability according to the company´s principles concerning Environmental Education. Data presented here refer to the partial content of four categories used for analysis: training, change, participation, and awareness. We have chosen a qualitative and dialogic methodological approach. The research is of the case-study type, corssectional in nature, and characterized by a descriptive-qualitative approach. Data were collected in three different sources: interviews, documents, and participant observation. Content analysis was used for the discussion. Results pointed out the sense of obligation concerning the adequacy to the normative tool in the company, the emphasis given to the production area rather than other activities in the organization, the employee´s dissatisfaction with the training courses, and the excessive preoccupation with the conformity and with the schedule to implement the norm.Downloads
