Alfabetización oceánica y escuela: la percepción de los docentes sobre la enseñanza de contenidos relacionados con los entornos marinos

La Cultura Oceánica se refiere al conocimiento público sobre el océano para la ciudadanía en el uso de los entornos y recursos marinos. Para investigar cómo los contenidos relacionados con el océano y los ambientes marinos se relacionan con la educación formal, este estudio entrevistó a profesores de la escuela primaria en la ciudad de Niterói, Río de Janeiro. Los resultados indicaron que los docentes demuestran vinculación y perciben la importancia del tema para la escuela y para los alumnos, sin embargo, relataron un abordaje limitado o indirecto de estos contenidos en el currículo. Los docentes se sienten dispuestos a incluir este tema en sus clases, pero creen que es necesaria la formación y vinculación del tema al currículo y, sobre todo, una sociedad dispuesta a valorar estos conocimientos.
