Research on teacher malaise has been a topic that has been discussed for years. Thus, this systematic review of the literature aims to map what has been produced about teacher malaise in Physical Education workers in school environments. Throughout the text, we propose to carry out a compilation of scientific works alluding to the theme, as well as identifying methods and instruments used to understand the malaise experienced by physical education teachers in basic education. A search was carried out in the Google Scholar database and 702 articles were identified, published between 2017 and 2022. The studies indicated that the causes of manifestations of teacher malaise are multifactorial, mainly caused by working conditions and professional devaluation. As main suggestions for improving this manifestation, it is necessary to invest in the continuing education of teachers, as well as investments in public policies to value teachers and schools.
