Abstract: The sandy beach ecosystem has a terrestrial and marine part and is sometimes part of an Integrated Management Plan (IMP) for the Marine Coast. Despite being commonly studied, it is increasingly necessary to raise awareness of the degree of degradation it has suffered over the years. The systematic literature review (SR) presented used the Web of Science (WoS) database and as a methodology the recommendations of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses, known as PRISMA. This analysis' main objective is to identify and highlight the practice of environmental information and education, as an effective tool for the protection or recovery of urban beaches, whether or not they have environmental quality certification. The final reflection highlights the challenge of evaluating the contribution of each project, as a driver of environmental conservation.
