This study aims to describe the journey of an athlete and a coach in Para-Badminton (both Black women) from the beginning of the extension project “[NOME SUPRIMIDO PARA NÃO IDENTIFICAR AUTORIA NO PROCESSO DE AVALIAÇÃO DO ARTIGO]” at the School of Physical Education, Physiotherapy, and Dance of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, in 2019, up to their qualification for the 2023 Parapan American Games, presented as an experience report. The descriptive analysis is organized in stages corresponding to the main actions that marked their trajectories. The study concludes that projects like this one, even when facing challenges, enable professional development and foster the inclusion of people with disabilities through sport. This occurs by promoting interaction among individuals with similar disabilities within the same functional class, while also exposing them to the diversity of bodily possibilities in events involving different classes and multimodalities. Finally, we highlight that the lens of intersectionality allowed for insights into understanding the complexity of their lived experiences.
