THE ACADEMIC PRODUCTION ON THE TRAINING OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHERS FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION: AN EXPLORATORY STUDY

Abstract
The aim of this study was to analyze the academic production on the Training of Physical Education teachers for Early Childhood Education in the period from 2015 to 2022. To do so, an exploratory study was carried out on the CAPES journal portal. A total of 102 papers were found, but only six met the search criteria. The data indicate that there are still few studies and research on Teacher Training in Physical Education for Early Childhood Education. We consider it relevant to debate how training in Physical Education for work in Early Childhood Education has been organized, provoking reflections on teaching in Higher Education and dialogue with the demands of the professional field. The analyzes presented here indicate the need and importance of new investigations into the training of teachers to work in Early Childhood Education, given the low theoretical production found on the topic in this exploratory study.
