Environmental Education (EE), supported by Law 9.795/1999, is crucial for the critical education of young people in the face of socio-environmental challenges. The aim of this research was to carry out a documentary analysis to understand how environmental perspectives are included in the following basic education documents: Curriculum Document for Goiás - High School Stage (DC-GOEM) and the National Common Core Curriculum (BNCC). We sought to identify how the environmental perspective is included in the High School stage, more specifically in the area of Natural Sciences and their Technologies. According to the data collected, it was possible to verify the low incidence of terms related to environmental education in the BNCC, with the Pragmatic macro-trend being more predominant, which is also the case in the DC-GOEM. The critical macro-trend, on the other hand, appears timidly, as it is essential for forming conscious citizens. This shows the need for a curriculum review, with a view to broadening the inclusion of the environmental perspective in these documents.
