CONTRIBUTIONS OF LEISURE AND PLAY TO THINKING ABOUT CAPOEIRA TEACHING AND LEARNING PROCESSES AT SCHOOL
Abstract
This article aimed to investigate leisure and play in the teaching and learning processes of capoeira at school. 18 children aged between 6 and 9 years old participated in the study, capoeira students from an after-school project at a public school in São José (SC). The teacher who teaches the classes for the project also participated. This is a field research, descriptive-exploratory and with a qualitative approach to the data. The instruments used were participant observations of classes, semi-structured interviews with the teacher and collective interviews with the children. The data was analyzed using the content analysis technique. The results indicate that capoeira has an intrinsic playful potential in its game aspect, which can be favored by the valorization of leisure in the pedagogical strategies adopted by teachers, contributing to significant teaching and learning processes for children.
