LEISURE, WORK, AND JOB SATISFACTION AMONG TEACHERS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic required adaptations that demanded dedication and time from university professors. With the increase in professional responsibilities, leisure time was compromised, influencing the satisfaction of the teaching staff with leisure during the pandemic. Considering this, the objective was to analyze the relationship between work time and the satisfaction of university professors with leisure before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Data on leisure and work collected from 339 university professors via GoogleForms were analyzed through descriptive statistics and categorical content analysis. Satisfaction with leisure was compromised because, due to the extra time dedicated to work and to household activities, which became more intense due to the social isolation caused by staying at home, it was not possible to achieve the possibilities of freedom, well-being, and pleasure in leisure time.
