Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a self-defense fight that has also been organized as a sport, developing different interactions and decisions between the participants. The general question of the study was: What are the relevant traits of the game-player dynamics of this driving practice that can support new research and didactic-pedagogical processes? This article characterizes the social-motor role exchange network of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and the properties of the space of this socio-motor practice, based on Motor Praxiology (PM). In order to describe the elements of the relational dynamics of participants in the game system, this theoretical research carried out a praxeological analysis, based on one of the Universals of Sports Games. The results reveal new knowledge regarding the sociomotor role of the BJJ, as well as the properties of the space of this practice of opposition: a duel without a weapon and without percussive blows; near-zero guard distance; permanent body contact between participants; possibilities of interactions in the soil.
