It is a theoretical-scientific essay through which it was studied about the neglect of knowledge concerning the fights/martial arts in the school space. When traversing the historical-epistemological constitution of the Physical Education subarea, a set of socio-historical factors can be observed, competing or conflicting for its disciplinary curricular organization, including tensions and disputes between the knowledge that will prevail in its teaching plan, due to variables which cooperate or compete for this event. To deepen the conjectures, a (non-systematic) examination of the contents related to fights/martial arts was carried out in twenty (20) state curricular proposals, in order to assess their presence and trace epistemological trends inscribed in the documents. The picture found, in general terms, revealed absences, (in)consistencies and gaps regarding the organization and systematization for the teaching of the theme, despite many proposals dialoguing with more recent scientific production. It is hoped, in fact, that the reflections raised will be added to others and may (in some way) give notoriety to their presence in school formation.
