CLIMBING AS A LEISURE SPACE/TIME OF WOMEN IN GOIÁS (BRAZIL)
Abstract
This text presents the relationship that female climbers in the state of Goiás establish with the phenomenon of ‘leisure’. To this end, a questionnaire was created on the Google Forms platform, sent by email to 25 climbers. The results show that the option for climbing as a bodily practice is based on the search for occupying leisure time with a practice that takes place, fundamentally, in more natural and less urban spaces, due to the sociability produced in these spaces, and also due to: diversity of practice, adventure, physical and mental effort, the possibility of traveling, a tool for personal transformation, changing habits and encouraging a healthy life, self-satisfaction and self-esteem. Finally, we conclude that these women constitute their Leisure – in climbing, as a significant space for self-resignification, building a dynamic where they themselves are the protagonists of their free time.
