Abstract

This article aims to reverberate the voices of students who stay away from Physical Education classes to stay in the stands on the courts. The objective of this research was to discuss the reasons for the lack of interest among high school teenagers in participating in classes, which led us to follow the path through the Professional Master's Degree in School Physical Education in a National Network (PROEF), UFMG. In this case study, the phenomenon researched derives from the observation of the movement of students in Physical Education classes at a state school in Belo Horizonte who, class after class, sit in the stands and do not carry out the proposed activities, sometimes reaching 50% of the total number of students away from class. The stands (or any place outside the court) then became a place at school in which it is possible to identify this student profile, who makes the decision not to want to take Physical Education classes. Thus, through a methodology that included the observation of classes during a two-month academic period, the class diary, interviews with the teenagers and various readings on the subject, we present as a result of this research the voices from the stands: the phenomenon of teenage girls' withdrawal high school students in Physical Education classes.
