SOCIO-EMOTIONAL LEARNING IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASSES COMBINED WITH PEDAGOGICAL WORK WITH AFRO-BRAZILIAN DANCES
Abstract
This article analyzes a didactic sequence focused on promoting Socio-Emotional Learning based on Afro-Brazilian Dances. It adopts Existential Action Research as a method for producing data carried out with 16 children in the 5th year of elementary school at a municipal school in Niterói/RJ. Children's narratives of oral, textual and image types were used, obtained in conversation circles, articulated with records in the Field Diary. It is concluded that the pedagogical strategies used in physical education classes were favorable to the critical understanding of dances as an element of Afro-Brazilian culture and to the promotion of Socio-Emotional Learning, with emphasis on the promotion of Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills and Responsible Decision Making.
