Teorias da Migração: abordagens pioneiras (1880-1940)

Este artigo aborda estudos e teorias pioneiros que moldaram o campo dos estudos sobre migração. Selecionei quatro intelectuais nascidos no final do século XIX, cujas experiências em contextos urbanos dinâmicos e industrializados influenciaram suas visões sobre mobilidade humana: Ernst Ravenstein, Robert Park, George Simmel e Rudolph Heberle. Seus escritos refletem a tentativa de compreender mudanças sociais e deslocamentos demográficos sem precedentes, marcados pela industrialização e transformações culturais. Sem julgar limitações teóricas a partir de conhecimentos contemporâneos, o enfoque é compreender como suas pesquisas expressaram inquietações e interpretações de seu tempo, vinculadas a realidades econômicas e sociais específicas. Esses trabalhos, produzidos em um contexto de pesquisa ainda artesanal, representam esforços para decifrar a migração, revelando como as trajetórias intelectuais dos autores se articularam às dinâmicas do mundo que observaram. Esses autores ofereceram importantes insights ainda utilizados nos debates sobre mobilidade humana.
