This article is part of ongoing research by the Postgraduate Program in Education in the Amazon (PGEDA), Associação Plena em Rede (Educanorte), in the area of concentration: Education in the Amazon, in the line of research: Educator Training, Praxis Pedagogy and Curriculum in the Amazon. It aims to present discussions about the relevance of hospital leisure in the process of recovering children from/in the Tocantins Amazon. To encompass the proposed objective, the following question was asked: What are the contributions of leisure in the recovery of hospitalized children from/in the Tocantins Amazon? It is a qualitative research and bibliographic study. It is highlighted based on the literature consulted, and the analysis carried out in official documents that leisure and recreation in the recovery process of hospitalized children plays a very important role in their recovery, as it involves formal education with games and games, and the Playfulness has the function of stimulating the creativity of these children, through spontaneous and pleasurable activities, mitigating the resonances of the disease, becoming a privileged element.
