Abstract

From the trends and changes based on the rapid globalization of markets, the systemic crisis of capitalism, transnationalized capital and the effects of a digital economy based on the value of knowledge, technology and innovation, the work addresses the impacts of technology in the geopolitics of the 21st century. In the current international situation, geopolitics must be understood in a much more comprehensive way, which promotes the development and expansion of large transnational companies with great technological, military, economic, financial and political power, which impose their supremacy and global power against others countries. Then, a new dimension of geopolitics bursts in, technological power, which will be a dominating factor that will reshape the international relations system of the 21st century. The new technologies are being monopolized by the centers of world power to achieve their objectives of hegemony and global domination, which has an impact on the economic and political structure shaping the global order, which represents a great challenge for developing countries, and in particular for Latin America and the Caribbean. In this sense, public policy approaches are outlined that favor alliances with other countries and regions to promote cooperation and regional integration on fair bases of sustainable development and socioeconomic equity.
