Dossier: Brazil-China Relations: Strategic Partnership in Trade and Investments for the Energy Transition and the Environment

2026-05-14

The Dossier: Brazil-China Relations: Strategic Partnership in Trade and Investments for the Energy Transition and the Environment is based on the new economic relations of the 21st century, which are deeply interconnected with environmental protection and the energy transition. This structural relationship involves various strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions through the replacement of fossil fuels with renewable energy sources, ranging from investments in other forms of energy production to the dissemination of sustainable technologies.

In this context, China has stood out as an innovative actor in the adoption of these strategies, and Brazil, in turn, has been a major recipient of Chinese exports and foreign direct investment (FDI), particularly in the electric vehicle chain.

Therefore, the Campos Neutrais Journal invites all researchers, students, and professionals to contribute articles addressing the economic relations between Brazil and China and their interrelation with the field of energy transition and environmental protection goals, as well as the current hegemonic dispute between China and the USA and how Brazil fits into this dynamic. One of the focuses of the call for papers is how EVs have become one of the main symbols of the hegemonic dispute between China and the United States in Brazil, transforming the country into a strategic battleground for the new automotive and technological industry.
