Latin American Cold War: historical-conceptual category, historiography and periodization

Este ensaio bibliográfico é iniciado por um debate teórico. Discute-se a conveniência de se utilizar “guerra fria” como categoria histórica-conceitual. Em seguida, realiza-se um balanço historiográfico a partir de autores que são referências na chamada “nova história da Guerra Fria”, de modo a analisar as particularidades da Guerra Fria latino-americana, abordagens teórico-metodológicas mais recentes no estudo do campo e algumas das novas questões de pesquisa. A seguir, analisa-se a Guerra Fria cultural na América Latina, suas principais contribuições recentes e conexões transnacionais, buscando-se integrá-la, quando possível, aos temas clássicos da política e economia. Por fim, faz-se um debate pormenorizado sobre a periodização da Guerra Fria na América Latina a partir de leituras críticas de três autores.
