This text discusses the challenges of implementing green efficiency within the scope of Public Administration, relating this concept to the promotion of ecosystem services. To this end, it debates the role of changes in bidding and public procurement instruments to include environmental issues within the scope of public administration operations. The text discusses the new foundations established by Law No. 14.133, of April 1, 2021. To illustrate these points, the text draws on the concept of nature-based solutions and discusses the case of the revitalization of the Tietê River in the State of São Paulo. In conclusion, the text considers the urgency of implementing green efficiency by the State.
