In 2004, it debuted in cinemas "Catwoman", the cinematographic adaptation of the DC Comics character, a notorious villain of Batman's universe. Amid public and professionals negative criticism, the film is highlighted by two important breakthroughs in Hollywood industry: be a blockbuster starred by a black actress and one of the few productions in which a superheroine - or super-female-villain - is the character title. Thus, this work comprehends the film adaptation concepts proposed by Robert Stam (2006) and Julio Plaza (2010) to develop a reflective reading of the film, using as approach the contributions of Michel Foucault for Discourse Analysis. The hypothesis is based on the statement of Mick LaSalle (2004), a film critic and writer, who considered the movie as a " investigation into the meaning of feminism ". The work is also based on the Feminist Critique of Cinema and the precepts of Black Feminism. As results, it is assumed that "Catwoman" as adaptation, represents a transcoding of the universe of the character on comics to the movies and in the process, really manifests significant issues to feminism However, these issues are addressed in a marketing bias, guided by the male gaze that reduces women, and diverges from the demands above the representation of the female figure.
