Abstract

The book "Problemáticas internacionales y mundiales desde el pensamento latinamericano" is a collective work that seeks to explore the region's contributions to the field of International Relations and global studies. Divided into five parts – Theories and Theoretical Approaches, Schools of Thought and Networks, Concepts, Doctrines and Figures –, it addresses a wide range of topics, from revised classical theories, such as Dependency Theory, to emerging concepts, such as coloniality and relational autonomy. The work also highlights key figures in the construction of Latin American international thought, such as Celso Furtado, Theotonio dos Santos and Walter Mignolo. Throughout its sections, the book not only offers a critical review of existing ideas, but also proposes an epistemological renewal that challenges Eurocentric hegemony in the field of social sciences in general and international relations in particular. As such, it becomes a valuable tool for scholars, students and policymakers interested in non-hegemonic perspectives.
