It was described the four larval stages of Speocarcinus meloi D’Incao & Gomes da Silva, 1991 under laboratory conditions. The ovigerous female were collected with the aid of oceanographic ship “Atlântico Sul” near to “Molhes da Barra” in Rio Grande - RS, Brazil. The stages were fed with newly hatched nauplii of Artemia sp, rotiferos (Brachionus plicatillis) and algae (Tetraselmis sp). The morphologic characteristics of each stage were described and was observed the presence of plumous, simple, pappose and plumodenticulate setae, and later compared with other species of the same family (Goneplax rhomboides) as well as other characteristics that allowed Speocarcinus meloi as a primitive species.Downloads
