Taking into account the importance of hospital infections (HI’s) to public health and the challenges they mean to professionals regarding their risk factors, it is necessary to implement tools which can contribute to their control and reduction. Continuing education, as a part of permanent qualification, could reduce the risk of clients’ contamination and transmission of microorganisms in the hospitals. Therefore, this study aimed to provide a training course on hand-transmitted hospital infections for health workers and students at Dr. Miguel Riet Corrêa Jr. Hospital (HU-FURG). For the evaluation, questionnaires were applied at the beginning and at the end of the course; both had the same questions, which were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The activities also enabled the professionals to interact, discuss and share experiences, thus, making it easier to grasp and understand the content. The acquisition of new knowledge by the participants was observed. In addition, the need to offer moretraining courses was also remarked.Downloads
