SEARCH FEEDBACK FOR IDENTIFICATION OF PREVENTION METHODOLOGY ON DRUGS FOR THE TECHNICAL SCHOOL PROF. MARIO ALQUATI

Abstract

As an attempt to answer questions about programs on psychoactive drugs, the team of CENPRE (Center of Studies for Prevention and Recovery of Chemical Dependents) conducted a cross sectional search among students of the Technical School Prof. Mario Alquati – Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (CTI/FURG, Rio Grande, RS, Brazil). The results showed that 69.4% of the students have never had experience with drugs and that the contact with the substances is greater in technical courses (28.2%) than in high school. Among the students, 84% reported never having had contact with any program on drug prevention in the school and consider the current campaigns informative and not efficient (59.2%). Studies are essential for the analysis of the population, which contribute as an instrument in the construction of prevention strategies as a way to reduce the damage caused to the individual and to the society with the use of drugs.
