EVALUATION OF THE TREATMENT ADHERENCE LEVEL WITH ANTI MICROBIAL: ASSISTANCE TO AN EDUCATIVE ACTION PROPOSAL IN HEALTH

Abstract

Throughout the past decades, the therapeutic adherence has become a very active area of investigation for the professional in health. In this study, the aim was to analyze the factors related to the lack of treatment adherence, to collect information and contribute to promote the therapeutic adherence and the rational anti microbial use. In the first stage, the evaluation was performed through an interview, socio-demographic variables, habits, questions related to prescription and the illness of 246 patients. Later, through phone calls, the offered treatment adherence was verified. It was noticed that there was a treatment adherence of 55.7%. According to the multivariable analysis, the outcome and the antibiotic class which influenced on the therapeutic adherence. It was concluded that there is a necessity to review the prescription and the anti microbial dispensation practices. The development of an informative book to be used by the professionals in health as a guide for the anti microbial dispensation is also defended.
