SABUKARU AND JAPANESE IDENTITY: Historicalsocial relationship between niponic individualism, subcultures and street fashion
Keywords:
Japanese subcultures, fashion, IdentityAbstract
Japanese fashion and subcultures have aroused curiosity, fascination and astonishment both among Japanese society and in
foreign civilizations. The emergence of urban and fashion tribes became vehicles for the social framework and personal affirmation before a culture formed from rigid collectivist precepts. To this end, this present paper seeks to understand the values of social homogeneity, proposing an analysis of the Japanese subject in the face of individual devaluation, advocating an investigation of the role of streetwear and substyles, the formation of these emerging identities among the younger Japanese groups and the influence they caused in the fashion segment.
