A field survey of the occurrence of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) on the dune grass Panicum racemosum was carried out along a dune stabilization gradient (incipient dune, foredune and fixed dune) in southern Brazil. Three samples of roots and 100g of soil were collected in each area. Ten AMF species from three families were detected: Gigasporaceae (Scutellospora hawaiiensis, S. calospora, S.weresubiae, S.pellucida, Scutellospora sp., Gigaspora albida and G.decipiens); Glomeraceae (Glomus microaggregatum and Glomus sp..); and Acaulosporaceae (Acaulospora scrobiculata). Gigasporaceae species dominated the incipient dune, while Glomeraceae species dominated the fixed dune.Downloads
